2. General
This website is a purely informational site. No user accounts are offered. With your consent, we use Google Analytics for traffic analysis (see section 4); without consent, no analytics or tracking cookies are set.
3. Access data / server log files
When you visit this website, our hosting provider, netcup GmbH (Karlsruhe, Germany), processes technical data (e.g. IP address, date/time, page requested, user agent) in order to deliver the website and ensure its security. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests in operation and security).
4. Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies or comparable technologies that allow analysis of how this website is used (e.g. pages visited, time spent, traffic sources). The information generated is transmitted to and processed on Google's servers, including by its US parent company, Google LLC. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses in full, personally identifiable form by default.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, given via the cookie notice on this website. You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.
Data transfers to the US are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, an adequacy decision by the European Commission. For more information on how Google handles your data, see Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
The retention period for Google Analytics user data is configured in our Google Analytics account (typically 2 to 14 months) and is deleted automatically afterwards.
5. Contact
If you contact me by email or phone, I process the data you provide in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Recipients / data transfers
Data is only disclosed to third parties where necessary to provide the website (in particular to our hosting provider), where there is a legal obligation to do so, or – where you have given consent – as part of Google Analytics (see section 4). In the latter case, data is transferred to the US, safeguarded under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you use the contact form, the data entered there is additionally processed by the processor FormPost (see section 10). Without your consent, no data is transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA.
7. Storage period
Log files are deleted according to the hosting provider's policies or as soon as they are no longer required. Enquiries are stored for as long as needed to process them and for record-keeping purposes. See section 4 for the Google Analytics retention period.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, among others, the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can withdraw any consent given for Google Analytics at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
9. Booking a call via Google Calendar
To arrange a no-obligation introductory call, I optionally offer a booking page based on Google Calendar (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and its US parent company Google LLC). If you select an appointment via the "Book an intro call" button, you leave this website and are taken to a page hosted by Google. There, Google processes the data you enter (e.g. name, email address, chosen time, and an optional free-text field describing the topic) in order to create the appointment and send both of us a confirmation.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures taken at your request). Where this involves a transfer of data to the US, it takes place on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For more information, see Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Using the booking page is entirely voluntary – you can of course still reach me by email or phone as well (see section 5).
10. Contact form
Alongside email and phone, the home page offers a contact form. Using it is entirely optional – you are equally welcome to write or call directly. The data entered in the form (name, email address, optionally the company, and your message) is processed by the service FormPost and forwarded to me. The provider is FormPost, Moritz Mair, Lindenweg 20, 64291 Darmstadt, Germany. FormPost acts as a processor on my behalf under Art. 28 GDPR on the basis of a data processing agreement.
The transfer is encrypted via HTTPS. The data is stored on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany; no data is transferred to countries outside the EU. FormPost uses Strato AG to send the notification email.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry is aimed at entering into or preparing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). Name, email address and message are required in order to process and answer your enquiry; the company field is optional.
Messages are stored at FormPost and by me for as long as they are needed to handle the enquiry and for record-keeping, and at the latest until you ask for them to be deleted. A hidden field in the form serves spam protection only and is not filled in by you. Further information: formpost.eu/datenschutz.
